How strict are length requirements for article submission to academic journals? I am in the process of preparing an article to be sumbitted to an academic journal. Their submission requirements state that the length of articles is 8,000 words including notes. My article is currently 8,550 words including notes. Will this be a problem? I have already cut it down quite a bit and to remove more will be very time-consuming.
